How We Are Helping

HomeBase works to ensure that effective housing and services are in place to help those who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. We work simultaneously on multiple, complementary levels to advance this goal.

  • Agency Level: We provide direct agency technical assistance and capacity-building to facilitate effective service provision, including supporting use of evidence-based programming, interagency collaboration and integration, efficient operations and organizational structures, and sustainable financing.
  • Community Level: We conduct assessment and strengthening of housing and service systems, including interagency agreements; joint data collection, analysis and performance measurement; and system-wide planning and resource allocation.
  • Regional Level: We convene regional bodies to facilitate information dissemination, planning, and peer learning and networking.
  • State Level: We engage in policy analysis, planning, convenings, and advocacy to support and enhance local efforts.
  • National Level: We conduct knowledge development and dissemination on evidence-based practices through development of curricula, webinars, conferences, toolkits, and other materials. We also engage in policy analysis and advocacy to support local efforts.

All of our work focuses on people who are homeless or living in poverty, a population with multiple, inter-related needs. Because of this, we work in many different issue areas and service systems, including: housing, health, and behavioral health care; food security; education; employment; benefits; criminal justice; child welfare/foster care; transportation; and veterans services.
