Jean Field is a Deputy Managing Drector at HomeBase and provides technical assistance, strategic planning, and project management expertise on initiatives aimed at helping communities prevent and end homelessness. She leads HEARTH implementation strategies in Napa and San Francisco. She especially enjoys gathering direct feedback from homeless individuals and housing and service providers, and implementing best practices and policies through practical, locally feasible solutions. Jean has extensive experience in the public sector, including legal, financial, policy, and operational management of city and state criminal justice agencies. Before working in the public sector, she was a journalist and nonprofit communications specialist. Jean has an English Literature degree from Reed College, where she played rugby, and a J.D. magna cum laude from Hastings College of the Law. She is the parent of two San Francisco public school students and a Giants baseball fan.
