Anne is a transformational social impact leader with a demonstrated success in forging cross-sector partnerships to innovate and meet community needs. Anne was CEO for the United Way Bay Area for 20 years where she transformed UWBA into a leading poverty-fighting organization. She oversaw the merger with United Way Silicon Valley and launched programs that are now national models for The United Way. She is a trusted community leader recognized for building poverty-fighting program initiatives at the intersection of health, education, economic security, and jobs. Anne has years of Board of Directors experience, including serving as Chair of the Board of United Ways of California, the association of more than 30 local United Ways across the state, and is Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s appointee to the SIPPRA Commission, overseeing $100 million in federal social innovation grants.
