Matt Weber
Directing Analyst
As a Senior Staff Attorney at Homebase, Matt works with Continuums of Care across the country to provide trainings, technical assistance, and support in evaluating and addressing community needs and goals according to evidence based best practices. Matt joined Homebase with a long and accomplished history on the policy, practice and academic sides of the affordable housing arena. As a lawyer, he worked extensively with community development corporations and other nonprofits, guiding them through the legal, financial and logistical challenges of the affordable housing development process. As a consultant, he helped local governments across the country to craft effective anti-displacement and affordable housing policies. He also worked closely with legal aid organizations to evaluate and strengthen their programs. And as an educator, he taught university courses in land use law, community development, and neighborhood planning, among others. Matt is a Michigan native and holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Michigan, and a juris doctorate and a Master’s of Public Policy from the University of Wisconsin.
