Mindy Michell
Directing Attorney
As a Directing Attorney at Homebase, Mindy works with communities across the country to provide trainings, technical assistance, and support in equitably implementing federally-funded homelessness and housing assistance programs, developing community-level strategic plans to end homelessness and housing instability and facilitating conversations about equitable systems change, and applying Housing First principles and practices to all levels of homelessness interventions. Prior to joining Homebase, Mindy worked at the National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) and served in various policy and capacity building capacities that focused on all aspects of homelessness, its causes and solutions, and the different populations that experience it. Before joining the Alliance, Mindy completed a post-law school fellowship with the New York State Senate, where she focused primarily on constituent relations and the development of foreclosure and eviction prevention legislation. Prior to law school, Mindy began her journey in this field as a case manager at a family shelter in Mobile, AL. Mindy is from Mississippi, spent a lot of time in Alabama, New York, and DC, and currently lives in Baltimore, MD.
